Review: Star vs The Forces of Evil “Into The Wand; Pizza Thing”

Is there any fight left for this series?

Star is having trouble with her wand so she turns to Glossaryck for advice. He tells her that she needs to go inside the wand to find the thing that doesn’t fit. It turns out her wand is filled with her memories. (Though we saw Star’s wand monsters and they definitely were not in her memory….) The two go inside the wand but managed to get separated. Star takes it upon herself to find the wrong thing. As she finds all of the right things, she learns that as she spends more time inside the wand, the more versions of herself are created. Soon, one of them will take over her timeline. Just before the other Stars take over, she finds the wrong thing and exits the wand via Glossaryck’s eye. Star decides she shouldn’t have gone inside the wand but at least now her powers are fixed.

Star and Marco have invited Ponyhead to join them on Friendship Thursday. Ponyhead wants to spend the night dancing and partying but Star and Marco spend Friendship Thursday eating pizza and watching television. When Marco heads out to get the pizza, a bored Ponyhead follows him. She does everything she can to make the trip interesting, which ruins everything instead. Once they finally reach Emilio’s Pizza, Marco finds that his pizza is missing a few mushrooms. This makes Emilio quit immediately. Now pizzaless, Marco and Ponyhead join forces to make their own pizza. Only it looks and tastes terrible.

For a show called “Star vs The Forces of Evil,” Star doesn’t fight very much evil nowadays. Granted, both episodes were very entertaining but there was zero fighting. I’m ready for Star to get back to her ass-kicking princess persona. Perhaps Star is getting a little too comfortable on Earth.
