Review: Bob’s Burgers “The Last Gingerbread House On The Left”
The Belchers throw down all alone for FOX.
Spoilers Below
As Bob worries about how they can afford Christmas this year, Linda decides to cheer the family up by taking them caroling. But Bob gets a call from Mr. Fischoeder ordering him to bring food for a party he is hosting. Well, it turns out that Mr. Fischoeder really wanted Bob to join his annual gingerbread house-building contest. Mr. Fischoeder loses the contest every year so he bribes Bob with a free month of rent in order to lose the contest instead. During the contest, Bob finds out that the prize is a cuddle session with a local albino polar bear cub. Determined to give his kids a great Christmas, Bob decides that he will win the contest. The other contestants end up fighting so badly that they pull guns on each other’s houses. In the end, all of the houses are destroyed. Bob’s is the least destroyed, leaving him the winner.
Meanwhile, Linda and Teddy take the kids caroling around Mr. Fischoeder’s neighborhood. The kids wanted to get hot cocoa for their effort but all of the homeowners slam doors in their faces. Until they get to the creepiest house on the block. Teddy insists that the resident is a murderer who kills everyone who comes to his house. Louise notes that the rest of the night has sucked, meaning going to this house would be the best part of the night. Linda agrees and rings the bell. Strangely, the homeowner answers the door with a knife in his hand. Eventually, he convinces the Belchers (and Teddy) to sing for him. That is when they find out that he has an amazing soprano voice that is perfect for the one carol Linda wants to sing – “There is no Christmas without us.”
This was an adorable episode. Bob got to give his kids the amazing Christmas he wanted, Linda got to sing the carol she wanted, and the kids got to cuddle an albino polar bear cub. Even Teddy got to pretend he was part of the family for a night. Granted, Bob still has to pay rent next month but I think this was worth it.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
