Review: Star vs The Forces of Evil “Hungry Larry; Spider with a Top Hat”
The spiders all in tune.
Spoilers Below
It’s Halloween time! Mr. Diaz is hosting his annual haunted house. Unfortunately, it just isn’t scary. It doesn’t even scare the 8 year olds that Marco bribed. Depressed, Mr. Diaz goes to hide in the garage. While Marco heads out to find some 5 year olds to bribe, Star and Janna decide to summon Hungry Larry. He will supposedly haunt your house if you call him.
Well, it turns out that he is scary because he eats everyone. Mr. Diaz is unable to find his family when he comes out of the garage. Instead, he finds a huge Hungry Larry in the house. When Hungry Larry shows Mr. Diaz that he has eaten everyone, Mr. Diaz freaks out. He leaps into Larry’s stomach, causing the ghost to vomit everyone out. Not only did Mr. Diaz save the day, he also became the scariest attraction on Halloween.
In the second half of the episode, we go inside Star’s wand. All of the creatures that make up her spells live rather normal lives there. And all of these creatures are entertained and cared for by a small spider wearing a top hat. However, this spider wants to be a warrior like everyone else. He spends every night throwing himself against a wall in an attempt to be a fighting spell.
One morning, the spider doesn’t wake everyone up like usual. All of the creatures end up oversleeping. This also happens to be the day that Star needs every single one of them to fight. She even calls her Spider with a Top Hat Blast spell. Despite the spider thinking he has no fighting powers, he actually has a laser gun in his hat. He shoots the giant wolf attacking Star and Marco. The spider with a top hat turns out to be Star’s most powerful spell. Now he’s a happy little spider.
These were both awesome episodes. Star is usually the tough warrior chick in the show. But not tonight. Tonight we are saved by Marco’s dad and a little spider. It just goes to show that physical or magical strength doesn’t automatically make you the best. Sometimes it takes a warrior heart. And both Marco’s dad and the little spider have that. Maybe, just maybe, we can all win our own battles too.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
