Review: Future-Worm! “Steak Starmom / Lemonade’s Last Stand / This Week In Future Science 1”

Eat it up, because it’ll be two weeks before another new episode of Future-Worm premieres!

“Steak Starmom” – Danny’s mom accidentally stumbles into the Steak Starbolt virtual reality game after she pines to spend her ONE day off with Danny. To help, she chooses Steak Starbolt as an avatar/disguise as she joins Danny and Fyootch on a mission. We get a few bumps in the road, but Meg soon reveals her true identity to Danny and helps her fam to a decisive win all with the power of hugs. The game is over, and we learn that Doug was in the game…as a wall.

“Lemonade’s Last Stand” – Danny and Fyootch set up a lemonade stand in a lemon-less future so as to gain funds towards a new game. We’re in New Dog City, and just as we’re about to get attacked by a bunch of dogs when they are saved by Excavator Angrita. The post-apocalyptic warrior takes Danny and Fyootch to her hide-out where we get a last-stand battle with the dogs. Thanks to the power of lemonade, Danny helps Angrita and her pals be victorious on the battlefield.

“This Week In Future Science 1” – The scientists who created Fyootch create more abominations of nature. Examples include Strawberry Slug who is sent back in time to help keep Madison safe.

Our Take

By far the strongest episode of the season thus far. A 3D short, a post-apocalyptic world with guest stars Justin Roiland and Selma Blair, and Strawberry Slug! Seriously, give me five more episodes with Strawberry Slug, I want ’em. Future-Worm is so erratic of a series, it’s nearly more of a sketch show than Right Now Kapow, but the heart and characters always shine through.
