More info on Louis CK/Albert Brooks Animated Series; Plus FXX Animation News
Some important changes.
Earlier this year, FX made the announcement that they have ordered a pilot for a new animated series coming from Louis CK and Albert Brooks with production being done by Starburns Industries. Not much was known about the concept of the series, but on the back of the news of FX upping SVP, Series Development and Animation Kate Lambert. Deadline had a bit more info about the pilot including the fact that it is ,in fact, an animated cop show for FXX.
Kate’s new role will be to develop short-form and long-form animated content for both networks. FX head John Landgraf said over the summer that he really wanted to recommit to animation and this executive change is the first sign of that. Unfortunately, other than another Simpsons marathon and the news that Archer will ride out three more seasons on FXX before it ends, not a lot has gone on in the development department from the network.
Hopefully, Kate will develop a bit of variety on the animated end. For example, dramedies, sci-fi, action, etc…something a bit different than the funny stuff. We’ll see where this goes.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
