Review: Milo Murphy’s Law “The Doctor Zone Files; The Note”

Not bad, but not the best of the first few either.

Spoilers Below

Let me start this review by saying I’ve never watched Doctor Who. Me and 3 other people in the world must be missing out, huh? In relation to this week’s Milo, I got the obvious Doctor Who parody, but I didn’t actually get it. I knew it was a clear spoof, but beyond that, there is no telling. I’m not going to let a parody that I didn’t fully understand lower the score, but I’m not going to raise it either. Perhaps, if I was a die hard Who fan (not the rock band either), I would have loved the episode for that reason alone. AnyWHO [see what I did there?], the epsiode was great on its own merit because it proved that there can be less chaotic episodes as a whole. Up until now, something improbable on a large scale was constantly happening around Milo. In this episode, the plot was that Milo’s sister was preparing for something bad to happen to ruin the experience of The Doctor Zone Files movie. So it turns out that at the end, she actually misplaced the tickets and Milo was just a bystander. With no tickets, there would be no movie. Luckily, in this case, and due to Milo’s presence, a disaster ripped open the movie theater and the gang was able to see the movie. Moral of the story? It’s ok when fifty thousand dollars worth of architectural infrastructure at a cinema comes crumbling down to the ground, as long as you get to watch an eight dollar movie.

And now, the second episode of the half hour, “The Note.” This really had nothing special and just felt like the pilot redone. No, I take that back. I liked the doppelgangers of Milo and his friends, in which the female was implied to have the same luck as Milo. Besides that, mediocre.

“The Doctor Zone Files”

Score: 9/10

“The Note”
