Babymetal live-action/animated series on the way

Finally some good news.

Babymetal is one of those metal acts, like Dethklok and Ghost, that transcends the genre because of the uniqueness of its delivery. Teenage Japanese girls singing songs about chocolate and such is both entertaining and rips which gives us a fresh sound that instantly grabs a fan base. To help capitalize, Babymetal is teaming up with Amuse USA and Blue-Ribbon Content in developing a live-action/animated hybrid series that will be short-form and available on the web.

According to Deadline, the action-adventure will take viewers inside the magical world of heavy metal music as it comes under attack, and one lonely god, Kitsune, forms the warrior band Babymetal to save the day. In the series, Su-Metal, Yuimetal and Moametal join together to ultimately redefine the genre. The series also will feature new live-action performances from the group, who will enter the animated world through a secret portal.

If I’m Babymetal, I’m staying away from any Adult Swim deal. Christ knows, they’ve broken our hearts with how they handled Metalocalypse/Dethklok, so I’m totally fine with a web series. The band has an installed fan base that could very well turn this series into a sensation, wherever it may land.
