Review: Squidbillies “Vicki”

It’s ‘Dating 101’ in Dougal County.

Sheriff is a very simple man. His entire police career has been spent watching Early to make sure he doesn’t raise too much hell. He asks for very little in return. So when a girl that he used to go to school with, named Vicki, shows up in town to help her sick and elderly dad, it would seem as though he has a chance with her. He does…. until a certain cephalopod gets involved.

Vicki is interested in Sheriff and vice versa. Early decides that he should get involved and play the role of a twisted, demented Cupid. Who wouldn’t want to take relationship advice from a squid who’s hat reads the following message: “I don’t Netflix and Chill… I VHS and F**K!!!”?

Early convinces Sheriff to pull off the absolute worst actions and make a fool of himself. Once Vicki takes Sheriff for a creep, Early sends Sheriff even further down the path of no-return and the rest is history.

The episode was funny, but didn’t have substance like the others this season. Sure, it’s funny to see a nice guy get screwed and ruin his chances with a nice woman but with no deeper messages, or even side plot, I have to rate this episode just above average.
