Review: Lego Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitsu “Operation Land Ho!” ; “The Way Back”

We finish up Ninjago on a high note.

In “Operation Land Ho!”, Nya’s getting ready to get married to Nadakhan while Jay rounds up a lineup of replacement ninjas in an attempt to get her back. That plan goes awry, but Jay is able to get Nadakhan’s sword, and free the rest of the Ninjago from captivity.

In “The Way Back”, the Ninja eventually team up with members of Nadakhan’s crew after the wedding and are able to hit him with the venom, while Jay makes a wish that no one had found the tea pot in the first place. As a result, all of the shit that Nadakhan had brought with him reverts back to a prior state, and Nya and Jay live happily ever after.

Our Take

I liked the first half of the Ninjago finale a lot better than the second half as I felt the build up was excellent. Unfortunately, I think there’s something oft-putting about two LEGO pieces kissing, and subsequently this show went right back to weird for me. I will say, this has been the most enjoyable season of Ninjago thus far. Despite plot holes, I didn’t exactly hate the trip.
