20 New Steven Universe Episodes to Premiere over next Couple of Months; Comic Con 2016 Appearance Announced
We’ll forget that we have to sit through Ninjago all-next week.
Steven Universe is returning with 20…that’s TWENTY new episodes of the show’s third season starting on July 18th with two back to back episodes @ 7 pm, and going through August 12th. Slated to air will be a musical episode on July 19th called “Mr Greg” and a 22-minute special airing towards the end of August named “Bismuth” featuring guest star Uzo Aduba (Orange Is the New Black).
The four week Steven Universe engagement is called “Summer Adventures”, but only a few days after the July 18th return of Steven Universe, Comic Con is getting a fistful of the hit animated series as well with a panel, a costume contest with show creator Rebecca Sugar as a judge, and signings. Cartoon Network is bringing together the talents of Steven Universe for a first-of-its-kind live musical experience for fans at San Diego Comic-Con! The series cast and musical minds behind Steven Universe will give a never-before-seen performance of the series’ critically-acclaimed music, as well as exclusive previews from upcoming episodes and an extended Q&A. Scheduled to appear are Steven Universe gems Rebecca Sugar (Creator), Jeff Liu (Writer and Storyboard Artist), Zach Callison (Voice of Steven), Estelle (Voice of Garnet), Michaela Dietz (Voice of Amethyst), Deedee Magno Hall (Voice of Pearl), Ben Levin (Writer), accompanied by series composers Aivi Tran and Steven “Surasshu” Velema, and moderated by former supervising director Ian Jones-Quartey.
