VICELAND and Starburns Industries Team Up for ‘Party Legends’
2016 is already hungover with animated retellings, but HERE’S ONE MORE!
I think 2016 is officially going down as the year of the sketch series. More specifically, the year of the “Animated Retelling of Crazy Stories”. MTV has Greatest Party Story Ever, truTV has Celebrity Storytelling, and now the Viceland network is jumping in with a show about PARTY STORIES….FROM CELEBRITIES! (*fingers*).
The show is being produced by Starburns Industries (Rick and Morty) and it’s called Party Legends. Notable and notorious personalities share their best party stories. Filmmaker Lance Bangs envisions each one with help from emerging artists and animators. Featuring: Margaret Cho, Eric Andre, Dennis Rodman, Alia Shawkat, Fred Armisen, Bobcat Goldthwait. There's got to be some kind of twist that's going to happen with this. I don't know if they're setting up an April Fool's joke now or what's going on, but it seems too strange that they'd suddenly reverse on doing a fourth and fifth season after the show was already renewed and they were even just talking about working on those seasons like a couple months ago or something. Or maybe the two episodes yet to release will secretly somehow each be like a "season" in themselves?
