Shorts Review: RWBY Chibi Episode 6
This was another slightly long one due to a random ad to a convention that RoosterTeeth announced they’d be appearing at (3 mins and 20 seconds this time.)
“The Vacuum”
Weiss casually does some housework with her vacuum within her dorm room and uses her ballerina skills while doing so and finishes hilariously by “Moonwalking” out with the vacuum.
After she leaves it’s revealed that both Zwei and Blake were hiding. (Get it? because Household Pets are terrified at Loud Vacuum cleaners.)
I should also point out the minor detail of a random “Boy-Band” Poster in the background of one of the beds which according to Tumblr is revealed to be chibi depictions of people from another Rooster Teeth Show called “Achievement Hunters”.
It’s not the worst skit but at this point most of the RWBY fandom at Tumblr is starting to get sick of all the Animal jokes.
“Cape Trubs”
Team RWBY come back from a class they had where they express their disdain for their teachers and briefly mention a Female teacher we haven’t seen named “Professor Peach” (Is this a character we could see in the future in Vol. 4?) only for Ruby’s Cape to be briefly stuck in the door.
We then cut to Ruby is reading a comic and as she comes down her cape gets stuck almost serving a noose with her screaming “Not Like this!!”.
This particular Skit ends with Jaune for some random reason casually walking in Team RWBY’s Dorm with muddy footprints and accidentally leaves some on her cape and expresses frustration.
If there was ever a sketch that would make Edna Mode laugh, This would be it.
“Book Swap”
If you know two things about Blake Belladonna following the series aside from being a “Faunus” in disguise, it’s that 1. One of Team RWBy’s Bunk-Beads within their Dorm is makeshift & structured by random books holding it in place while the other is held with Rope and 2. Blake has an Absolute Love for reading.
So when Blake notices a sequel to a book she just finished reading called “The Man with Two Souls” She discovers the sequel that’s holding her bed in place called “The Man with Two Souls II:The Man with Four Souls”. She’s in abit of a dilemma.
She tries to find other books and objects that will stabilize her bed since there’s a high-risk of screwing up the structural integrity of how it’s held in place and realizes the first book has the same thickness and width of it’s sequel. And with abit of suspense, Blake quickly switches it without fucking with the bed like a game of Jenga.
Only for the punchline to be Ruby asking to borrow that book immediately after getting it and Blake cartoonishly crawls into a ball of disappointment.:P
“The Fourth Wall”
Yang makes a jab at the fandom randomly saying “Bumblebee” (Something the Rabid Fandom on Tumblr has made a Shipping name for Blake & Yang like “Olicity”.) until Jaune shows up with Nora & Ren revealing who they found… Phyrra Nikos!
This is abit of a big deal and where things got the most Intense with the RWBY fandom because if you know what happened in RWBY Vol.3, Phyrra was killed!
The only characters who are shocked as hell at seeing her back the most are Team RWBY, Esspecially Ruby herself who was the unfortunate witness of Phyrra’s demise in the Season Finale of Volume/Season 3.
Nora then pulls a “Deadpool” and talks to both RWBY and the Audience looking at the camera and saying “Nothing BAD Ever Happened. EVER!” interrupting Ruby which serves as meta-commentary to the Audience while assuring fans that RWBY chibi exists in it’s own universe compared to the main show which after Vol.3 completely changed it’s tone to something Bleak and Angsty like an “Arrow” Episode.
I honestly thought they weren’t going to mention anything about Pyrrha?? It’s been stated that Chibi is totally out of canon, so I figured “Eh, She’ll probably just show up at some point, and it’ll be like nothing bad ever happened.“ But the way everyone reacted had me speechless.
Another absolute gem of an episode. Especially the last segment where Nora looks at the Camera and starts serving as “Damage Control” for the Rabid Fandom.
Also the voice cast for both Team RWBY and JNPR are all present and accounted for. (Voice Actors from season 3 included such as Monty’s Brother Neath.)
Best sketch: “Fourth Wall”
Worst Sketch:“The Vacuum”
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
