Review: American Dad! “Garfield and Friends” (S13Ep19)

This week’s new American Dad! episode “Garfield and Friends” was a pretty strange one… not the worst episode ever, but certainly not the best.

As I’ve said before, some of the more lackluster episodes this 13th season end up falling a little flat, only due to the fact that there have been other such stellar, gems of episodes earlier in the season. Tough to follow up.

“Garfield and Friends” has two story lines. In one, Stan brings James Garfield back to life in order to teach Hayley some history, and we get to see how Stan and Hayley have always bonded in such a way. The other story line is a frankly bizarre one about Steve ending up writing erotica-type stories in the school newspaper (with Roger as Deep Throat, of course).

Both story lines have a laugh here or there, a chuckle, but nothing INSANELY funny as American Dad! often manages to sneak in. However, the episode was watchable, maybe not re-watchable, but not too bad all around.

Still excited to see what next week brings, though, as usual, in a very unique grab-bag of an American Dad! season.
