You can watch ‘Daria’ on new streaming service Fullscreen
Global media company fullscreen announced plans today to launch an ad-free SVOD service, the world’s first video membership experience programmed for the social-first generation.
Debuting internationally on April 26, the eponymous service fullscreen will be anchored by a robust programming slate featuring a diverse library comprised of feature films, scripted and unscripted acquisitions and originals, as well as exclusive content from today’s top creators and social influencers. Built for audiences expecting immersive and engaging entertainment, from gossipers and geeks to rebels and revolutionaries, fullscreen will feature fresh content daily, including playlists from their favorite creators, search by mood, social media content creation tools and more.
In terms of animated content, original series’ don’t seem to be a focus right now, but the service that will be available for $3.99 a month will feature MTV’s classic animated series Daria as one of the network’s acquisitions.
For those that don’t know, is an American animated television series created by Glenn Eichler and Susie Lewis Lynn for MTV. The series focuses on Daria Morgendorffer, a smart, acerbic, and somewhat misanthropic teenage girl who observes the world around her. The show is set in the fictional suburban American town of Lawndale and is a satire of high school life, and full of allusions to and criticisms of popular culture and social classes.
Our Take
Is Daria enough for me to subscribe to yet ANOTHER streaming service? I don’ think so. Show me some original content, and we’ll talk.
