Review: Venture Bros. “Red Means Stop”

A TV show’s season finale is a really bad time to air it’s worst episode (by far) of the season but I’m afraid that’s what The Venture Bros has done. Last nights episode entitled “Red Means Stop” should have taken it’s own advice.

If you have read any of my reviews this season then you know I am a fan of the show and 90% of the time give it really high praise. To be totally honest I didn’t even recognize the show I was watching this time around. It just really went through the motions like it couldn’t wait for the season to end. It was a complete mess start to finish.

All of the things that made this season really good just fell flat. For example the story-line of Dr. Mrs The Monarch not knowing her husband is the Blue Morpho seemed played with no new jokes or situations. Like I’ve written before Rusty and the boys are after thoughts at his point with the series but tonight was worse than usual.

I usually comment on all the cool references and best lines but I really cant think of any. There is a “Saw” theme throughout but even that was very unfunny.

If I could use one word to describe this episode I would say uninspired. Even with my harsh words, I would still say overall it was a very good and entertaining season.
