Review: Adventure Time “Hall of Egress” (S7Ep24)
The new episode of Adventure Time, “Hall of Egress” at once referenced past Adventure Time episode themes (Dungeon Train) and set a new growing up/coming of age theme.
There were several metaphors throughout the episode (Finn shedding his clothes, and having to make a lone journey) that showed him becoming more mature as a person. The Hall of Egress is a strange dungeon that, much like the movie Groundhog Day, causes you to repeat events again and again. Finn needs to figure out how to escape, and he remembers Princess Bubblegum telling him that “egress” means “exit”.
We see Finn’s whole crazy, hallucinogenic journey, we see his long, flowing blond locks when he removes his hat and is dirty, in the wilderness, wearing only animal hide. At the end of the episode, Finn of course emerges okay, even though the experience is traumatizing and he jokingly tells Jake he doesn’t want to talk about what happened.
Overall, kind of a good episode– it harks back to an early Adventure Time feel.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
