Review: Lego Star Wars: The Resistance Rises “Poe To The Rescue”
The Force Awakens characters have come to the Lego Star Wars universe. In this episode, Admiral Akbar has been captured by the First Order and Poe Dameron has to save him. First, Poe has to save C-3PO from a planet with acid rain. Of course, this means that 3PO has to complain the entire time he’s on the trip. There was a funny moment when C-3PO thought R2-D2 was on board Poe’s ship but, no, it was BB-8.
Even though the episode was only five minutes long, they managed to get a lot more action and story into the time than some other shorts on Disney. On top of Poe and BB-8, we also got to see Captain Phasma, Kylo Ren, and General Hux. (At least I think it was Hux.) There were a few throwbacks to when Han and Luke saved Leia from the Empire and there were quite a few comments on 3PO’s mysterious red arm. It wasn’t explained but it was pointed out.
I enjoyed this episode a lot. Much more than some of the other Lego Star Wars series where they simply re-played the movies. This was more like giving us a between-the-scenes type look at what the characters might be doing when they aren’t on screen in the movies. I can’t wait to see more!
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
