Review: Bob’s Burgers – “Sexy Dance Healing”
Bob usually has a punny Burger of the Day on his chalkboard. Lately, he’s been having a bout of writer’s block. In order to overcome his block, he heads down to the local grocery store to look at some ingredients. On the way to the store, he slips on some oil that Jairo the Capoeira instructor has poured on the sidewalk. When Bob does to the doctor for his injured shoulder, he finds out that he will have to pay $6000 for surgery. Since he can’t afford that, he is forced to sue Jairo for the money. Jairo has something else is mind. He will heal Bob with massage. Amazingly, it works. Before they can finish the massage series, Jairo is evicted from his shop (which is also where he was living) by Mr. Fischoeder. Bob agrees to let Jairo live with them and use the basement for his classes. But Bob is still suffering from writer’s block. It isn’t until Linda fakes a take-out order for the burger of the day that Bob breaks through his block and brings back the daily burger.
Of course, the kids are causing trouble at the same time. They have made up a set of three fake lawyers and have been handing out threats of lawsuits on the fake letterhead. Unlimited ice cream samples, more meat in the tacos at school, getting rid of their tardy slips…the kids are using their letters for everything and anything. They go a little too far when they decide to send an eviction notice to Jairo to get him away from Bob. Jairo brings his own lawyer (who also happens to be Bob’s lawyer) that points out the letter is fake. Undeterred, the kids take their fake letter to Mr. Fischoeder to get him to UN-evict Jairo from his old space. The greedy old man foolishly admits that he has used some fake lawyer letterhead himself and the kids threaten to blackmail him with the info. Needless to say, Jairo gets his space back. Everything is back to normal.
This was a rather good episode. The kids were causing trouble but it wasn’t anything dangerous, like it usually is. Bob showed how difficult it can be to come up with something original every single day of the year. And Jairo was Jairo. I think this may be one of my favorite episodes.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
