Comics Review: Futurama Comics #78
Spoilers Below
Bender gets adopted by a rich guy only to be turned into a potentially hunted prey. Bender only got the gig after a national tryout occurs and the robot donning a red with and pretending to be an orphan wins over the tycoon. Instead of being a victim, Bender takes off his wig and gives it to the butler robot whom comes back and finishes off the rich guy himself.
Meanwhile, Fry’s hair is missing, so when he freaks out about being bald he has to go to a support group to discuss his issues. Well, he pisses them off too, and lands on the planet that Bender is staying on just as Bender is getting ready to cash in on being the sole heir to the rich asshole’s throne.
Leela gets into it with a bunch of orphans, and I don’t even know what that was really about.
Our Take
Aside from Leela’s lack of a contribution to this issue, Futurama gets bald and rich right featuring an almost-Annie send up featuring Bender that turns the way a Bender story should. Fry going bald provided itself with a host of funny bald cameos, some of which I actually have to research to remember any names. Good stuff, and definitely worthy of a buy.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
