Review: PICKLE AND PEANUT “Springtime for Christmas / Yellow Snow / A Cabbage Day Miracle”
Spoilers Below
“Springtime for Christmas”
Pickle is playing store Santa when this kid Jeffrey shows up and wishes for Spring. To help, the boys turn the store into the best Spring-like playground you could ever ask for. It actually doesn’t turn out that great, but Jeff slips on a puddle and dreams up Spring which is just fine with Pickle and Peanut.
Our Take
Every part that had a song I am convinced was literally just mushroom trips being recorded. Of all three episodes, this one was the most standard, but it was still pretty funny.
Score
“Yellow Snow”
Pickle and Peanut start a snowball fight with the dreaded yellow snow. Everyone breaks out the big guns in this epic battle, but the war ends with a dance off.
Our Take
Holy hell. You guys ever see World Doctors on Youtube? Go watch that, and that’s a good idea of what this episode looked like. There wasn’t any dialogue, but that would’ve fucked it up anyway. Clearly, this is Pickle and Peanut’s Treehouse of Horror deal that goes over so great.
Score
“A Cabbage Day Miracle”
Mjart is all excited about Cabbage Day and he wants the boys to help him bring it back to relevance. To help, Pickle orders tens of thousands of cabbages to sell and if they don’t sell them Papa and his boys are going to destroy the store. At first, the Cabbage Day celebration is a disaster because at the end of the day, we’re just selling cabbage. This inspires Pickle and Peanut to go and get Radu whom is kinda like the Santa of this holiday. With Radu’s help, the guys are able to sell a bunch of cabbage, but Papa bulldozes the store anyway killing Radu. Fortunately, the spirit of Radu comes back and restores the Mjart Mart.
Our Take
This show is out of god damn control already, and you add Patton Oswalt? The show is just so damn funny and there were so many funny scenes in this week’s episode. Radu was a trip, and Peanut’s reactions to the ridiculous amounts of chest hair was great. This might have been the best episode of the year just because of the constant burns from both sides, but we got so much show I can’t even think.
Score
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
