Review: Kirby Buckets “Atta Boy”
Spoilers Below
Evidently Forest Hills High is located in a huge city because there are two competing universities in town and they have a yearly football game in which Dad gets really excited for. Kirby hates football because he throws like a bitch. Too bad, cuz he still has to go the game with his dad like a real man while Dawn babysits for the SARGE! What up, Sergeant Pounder???
While Eli and Fish get over a shitty argument over grilled meat Kirby spills water over his dad’s lucky-ass stained pants and accidentally cleans them. To get them fixed, Kirby tracks down the guy that left the original stain so that he can get a fresh, dirty print. Kirby eventually does find him and chases him to his apartment featuring a door that says he’s not giving out anymore ass-slaps.
After convincing the one-time star quarterback of who he is, Trace agrees to help Kirby out. But, really Kirby ends up stealing a replica hand and heads back home to put a new ass print on his dad’s pants. That doesn’t work, but the real QB shows up and proudly gives Dad a big ol’ ass slap.
Dawn and Belinda end up returning Pounder’s baby with glued on eye brows and a hatchet.
Our Take
First of all, it was GREAT to see Sergeant Pounder again because he’s the most underutilized character on the show. Second, Eli and Fish’s argument over hot dogs and hamburgers was the worst idea this show has ever had. And lastly, Belinda churns butter like it’s nobody’s business.
Fortunately, the meat and potatoes of the episode was pretty good. Dad was excellent as a die-hard fan, and Kirby needed to be taught a lesson about making sports a religion. I think the ass slapping was kind of a pain in the ass…BOOM! But, overall, this episode gets a good score.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
