Ratings Are In 12/15/15: FOX toons up

We have to wait until January 3rd before we get new episodes of Family Guy and The Simpsons, but FOX has got to be happy with the way they finished the season in terms of toons ratings. According to Deadline:
The night started at 8 PM with The Simpsons (2.4/7) up a click from its December 6 show, which also had NFL overruns. Family Guy (1.7/5) was even with its 9:16 PM starting show of last week
I actually don’t agree with the article author’s NFL send up. The Cowboys v Packers game was a bore near the end, so I can’t imagine that shit contributing THAT much to ‘The Simpsons’. In any case, FOX should be happy with these numbers, and as mentioned, the network has been promoting new series Bordertown which is the first time they’ve promoted a new animated series since American Dad. We’ll see if the numbers translate next year.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
