Comics Review: Spongebob #50
Mash-Up Pants
All the residents of Bikini Bottom get hugs and are mashed together into one huge monster. Fortunately, Squidward doesn’t like anyone, so when he gets mashed, he ends up causing the separation anxiety.
Being Spongebob Squarepants
This one just confuses the hell out of ya.
Spongebuds
Spongebob uses a shampoo that causes his head to grow plants. The plants grow a sort of vegetable to which Spongebob tries to open up a juice stand with, but people end up getting grossed out.
50/50/50
The producers of the Spongebob Comics go to see and celebrate 50 issues by throwing a big huge plaque into the ocean. Spongebob gets it and now thinks it’s his birthday at the ripe age of 50. Squidward finally tells him otherwise, but what about when a big ol cake is sent into the waters below?

Our Take
50 issues is a lot, and the producers of Spongebob should be psyched. To celebrate, they don’t hold back on a pretty good release which is chockful of strips that should remind of the strengths of the people behind the issue. The first strip had excellent art direction especially in the early parts when Spongebob and Patrick were starting the combo process, and then I loved the constant breaking of the fourth wall in the 50/50/50 strip. A definite buy, so get this one of a kind issue on newsstands now!
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
