Comics Review: Rick and Morty #8
Rick and Morty head to a planet that celebrates a twisted version of Christmas known as Blumbus. Instead of tagging along with each other, the two decide to split up. Rick heads to a bar, and Morty meets a girl in an alley that takes him home and attempts to fuck and eat him in that order. Morty tries to make a dash for it, but it’s Rick who shows up with help for the save.
Then we get a short about Rick falling asleep and doing the Mr. Scrooge thing, but it’s short because Rick goes through the motions fast enough to get back home and finish his movie.
Our Take
A lot of the more current cartoons seem to enjoy their alternate takes on Christmas, and I think Rick and Morty have a good one. Not only did I enjoy the two stories, but I actually thought the story featuring the guy at the bar where Rick was at was just as much of a story as any of them and it was pretty awesome. Overall a nice issue to check out.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
