Review: We Bare Bears “Cupcake Job”

The laptop belonging to the bears is suspiciously broken so they decide to get a job. As luck would have it, there’s an opening at a local Cupcake ATM store for three jobs, with Panda being the pastry chef, Ice Bear the mascot, and Grizz the customer service rep.

Obviously, everything turns to shit with both Panda and Grizz destroying the restaurant and gaining the ire of the local populace. Fortunately, Ice Bear made a bunch of money whilst performing as a de facto street performer while wearing a cupcake outfit, so even though the trio gets fired, they can still get a new laptop.

Our Take

Not gonna lie, if there was a real Cupcake ATM store, I would be dead in a month. Fortunately, this is make believe, and it’s better that way because this show involves three bears with jobs.

And overall, we get an episode that was quite a lot of fun. Watching Panda destroy that shop, I couldn’t help but think of it owing I Love Lucy a nod. Some shows try their best to replicate that classic scene, these producers go into a very similar setting and do a damn good job of making it their own. I would have liked to have seen a bit more of Ice Bear’s performance and how much of the audience he really captivated, but overall Step Brothers and Prestige Worldwide came to find whilst watching this whole thing play out and that’s a good thing.
