Spoilers Below

There’s a Sasquatch-like creature named Charlie that lives in the woods and while downtown is trying to figure out what he is, turns out he’s just a regular but lonely guy. He breaks into the Bears house to announce that he’s throwing a party for them and while they aren’t thrilled and would rather go to a crab fair, they opt to tag a long. Unfortunately, Charlie is unprepared in terms of food, entertainment, and anything else that goes along with a party, so he opts to go and get some food with his new snake friend. The duo eventually make it back to the bears house where they break in, ransack the place, and end up just ordering pizzas, but not paying. Charlie and the Snake get into an argument, but when Charlie heads back to the party with the pizzas, he gets cornered by some hikers whom wanna take his pic for the local news. The Snake comes back and scares the hikers away, and by the time Charlie returns to the party, the bears have already left for the evening and The Snake heads back to its family.

Our Take

Charlie is an excellent example of what you can do when you have a setting that’s both in the woods and down town. You don’t have to rely on either/or for plot ideas, rather you’ve got a bunch of options to work with. And who doesn’t know that ONE guy that believes in ghosts and Bigfoot? And who doesn’t know that ONE person that is sort of a friend, but maybe he tries too hard, so you just kinda put up with him? It’s fascinating that We Bare Bears is about three bears that live in the woods, and yet the show is so relatable.
