Review: Wander Over Yonder “The Matchmaker / The New Toy”
Spoilers Below
“The Matchmaker
Wander wants to take a love letter he found in Hater’s trash to Dominator, but Sylvia wants him to do none of that. As a result, Sylvia comes up with every potential side bar mission to dissuade Wander from doing something shitty, and even starts a chase by grabbing the letter and going to every part of the galaxy, but Wander gets it back and puts it in the mailbox. Dominator gets the letter and wonder who sent the message.
Our Take
The recap was short, but there was actually a LOT going on in this episode. The multi-dimensions were fabulous, and I constantly loved the repeated breaks in the fourth wall. The thousand titles, Wander noting that he likes to help people “usually in 11 minutes”, and “The Blank Scenes” just hit you like a machine gun and it’s tough to dodge. The ending twist was fantastic, and we get an epilogue that further moves the yard sticks to an eventual banger of a finale.

The New Toy”
Peepers wants to go after Dominator with a freeze ray, but Hater wants to impress the girl with a new car that is also a boat that is also a plane called the HATER RV. On the day of the invasion, Dominator does a rather stellar job of thwarting any attacks all the while Hater’s trying to show off his new ride as an attempt to gain Dominator’s attention. Eventually, Peepers decides to use his plan and combine it with Hater’s, but of course Hater screws it up and ends up using Hater’s car (with an attached freeze ray) against Peepers and the other Watch Dogs which then sees everything frozen as she takes off.
Our Take
I loved the live-action bits, and I was sorta hoping to see that as the whole episode, but overall I was rather happy with what I’ve got. Peepers and Hater have this relationship going on as of late that is rather reminiscent of Wander and Sylvia’s in that one is constantly doing dumb shit while the other has to clean up the mess. Eventually, you would think that Peepers would have had enough.
Moreover, is it possible that Dominator has no interest in Hater? I thought there was something going on there, but alas, that ended up not being the case. Further, how long is Peepers going to last in putting up with Hater? We’ve seen some close battles, but nothing that could be deemed as a full blown fall out.

"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
