Review: SuperMansion “Unfortunate Son”
Overview
Black Saturn’s parents are in town, but unfortunately they aren’t thrilled with their sons’ choices in life. Lex stands in as his girlfriend and yes Black Saturn has a little bro named Dudley, but the little guy seems to have more in common with Jewbot than anyone else. Unfortunately, while Jewbot and Dudley are out getting ice cream, the two are black bagged and kid napped by a rival drug gang. I say rival drug gang because we find out that Dudley takes drugs from Optocorp and resells for a profit plus he has an illegal work force.
Turns out the Saturn parents have some news for Black Saturn…no more freeloading. Because of this, Black Saturn has to get a job at the mall working the hot dog stand, but he gets fired.
Meanwhile, Rex is trying to cancel his cable, but it’s a big pain in the ass. Ranger isn’t thrilled with the idea because cable is how he gets his porn and Playboy just isn’t doing it for him. With no idea where the cable rep is, Rex decides to track down the call center that keeps fucking with him. The guys eventually run into Black Saturn whom is now working here, and he’s able to cancel Rex’s services. Saturn’s dad finds out about it and offers his son to kind of help out, but Saturn takes his now official girlfriend Lex to go and make it a Blockbuster night.
Brad wants to talk and get to know Cooch, but she just wants to bang out. Jewbot calls for help, and both Brad and Cooch free Jewbot and Dudley from the Russian mob. Dudley is very appreciative of Jewbot’s services, and even levies a veiled threat on the way out.
Our Take
The best character of this series really is Black Saturn. I know coming into this Rex got most of the press because he is voiced by Bryan Cranston, but really, Black Saturn seems to be the one that the series relies on to bring us the goods. Even when episodes aren’t based on Black Saturn, he seems to have SOMETHING major going on and this week was no exception.
That’s because it appears that his brother could be an upcoming villain, and a rather terrifying one at that. And because of Jewbot’s relationship to Dudley, I wonder how that is going to all play out.
I think that just shows the breadth of range that Black Saturn has. He, Lex, Jewbot, and Dudley could very well be the focal points moving forward, and like this week, that could leave everyone really with funny, but not nearly as important story lines. For the most part, Rex is just acting like the old crazy guy, and everybody else more or less shows up with their two cents on whatever it is they are normally worried about.
There were quite a few funny moments this week, too. Seeing how extreme Dudley gets on crime was both fascinating and enjoyable, and I love it when Jewbot goes Terminator on peoples’ asses. As a matter of fact, I could take a whole show on Jewbot just ripping others apart. In the meantime, we’ve got SuperMansion, and the best stuff is on the outside of the house.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
