Review: LEGO Star Wars: Droid Tales”Gambit on Geonosis”
Spoilers Below
Anyone who has seen Star Wars: Return of the Jedi already knows the premise of this tale. As a matter of fact, as compared to previous episodes of this series, Return of the Jedi was 95% of the focus. Because of this, the story was able to keep more of the popular plot points of the movie and allow Mike Price do what he does best, plant a number of gag land mines.
And gag land mines a plenty. Workers complaining about LEGO block colors, Han Solo flying the Falcon blind and essentially crash-landing Luke, and Palpatine’s mind tricks on Vader, Droid Tales continues to fly the flag of the LEGO Star Wars brand by giving us Star Wars rife with laugh out loud punch lines and not taking itself too seriously. Unfortunately, Return of the Jedi, used to be known as the worst of the franchise right up until “The Phantom Menace” released (the Ewoks were seen by many as the Jar Jar Binks of their time). We also have to imagine that unless if Disney XD allows LEGO to see The Force Awakens and then quickly do a parody, this could be the final LEGO Star Wars for a really long time.
And maybe now we can get a break on Star Wars parodies. Perhaps Michael and Disney XD can start cranking out Marvel parodies?
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
