Review: Adventure Time “Varmints”

Episode two of Adventure Time’s seventh season continues a Bonnibel-centric story arc, and ‘aint no one complaining. In fact, “Varmints” provides hardcore fans with some context as to what in the world is going on in the Land of Ooo without compromising the funny.

First off: The Vampire Queen rocks a rad letterman’s jacket in pretty much the whole episode. That’s right, Marceline is in almost the entire episode.

Then: She finds Bonnibel sitting on the front porch of Bumbald’s cabin protecting her pumpkin patch from “dern varmints”. And Peppermint Butler, he’s gone deep undercover to protect the patch too. After that: Marcy and Bubblegum tunnel into the Old Rock Candy Mines… to throw- down on giant, bug invaders.

How it ends: A Vampire and a Princess mess-up a metric ton of ugly varmints.

No Jake or Finn, but Bonnibel and Marcy occupy the spotlight incredibly well. Keep an eye on Pep-But, aka Peppermint Butler, and the King of Ooo, aka K.O.O., they too drop some serious haha’s. The only people who won’t like this episode are very sad, mean people.
