‘Animals’ gets HBO Premiere Date/time
HBO has officially announced the premiere date for it’s Sundance pickup Animals. The series coming from Phil Matarese & Mike Luciano and produced by Duplass Brothers Television will debut Friday, February 5 at 11:30 PM ET, exclusively on HBO with ten episodes with another ten on the way though it is unclear if those are premiering next year or the year after.
For those that don’t know, Animals follows the under-dwellings of NYC, your rats, your pigeons, you name it and it’s part of the cast. The series was created by Phil Matarese & Mike Luciano whom we interviewed earlier this year, and was executive produced by Jay and Mark Duplass. The series features guest voices from the likes of Katie Aselton, Nick Kroll and Rob Corddry and was produced at Starburns Industries (Rick & Morty).
We interviewed the creators of the series earlier this year ahead of their Sundance trip, and what’s interesting is that both Phil and Mike had shown a fondness in another HBO series called The Life and Times of Tim, and now it looks as though Animals is getting pretty much the exact same time slot on the very same network that the Steve Dildarian series ran on.
The HBO Facebook page is all excited, and you can see what they posted below:

"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
