Short Review: Descendants: Wicked World – “Voodoo? You Do”

Needless to say, Audrey starts freaking out when Mal tells her they are on the Isle. Thanks to Ben’s father, there is no cell service on the Isle so they can’t call for help. Mal and Evie decide they should get off the street. Luckily, they happen to be near a shop. They all duck inside.

The shop appears to be empty. As Audrey browses the shop’s wares, she finds a necklace she likes. A strange girl named Freddie, who appears to be the daughter of Doctor Facilier (from The Princess and The Frog), appears. Freddie tries to convince Audrey to steal a different necklace. Audrey refuses to steal anything. The two girls argue about the issue. Behind them, Mal points out that they need to get out of there.

This episode wasn’t quite as interesting as the previous. The 2-minute show time is really hurting the series. Instead of having enough time to properly set up a scene, the writers have to rely on having these rather boring set up episodes. The series would be so much better if the episodes were twice as long. That would give them enough time to introduce new characters and advance the plot. As it is, the only reason this particular episode exists is to introduce Freddie…and it didn’t even do that very well.
