Review: Pig Goat Banana Cricket “The Tooth of My True Love”
Spoilers Below
Goat is saved by a flying superhero, so naturally she thinks she met the man of her dreams. Unfortunately, Goat has no clue who the hero really is so she grabs a tooth that the hero left behind and begins her search. Meanwhile, Pig becomes a national champion at musical chairs despite a finale that saw him put in a bunch of extra work to prepare for.
Banana is mistaken for a toy, and brought home to the room of the one of the Junior Rangers. This room is basically the setting for Toy Story on acid in that a bunch of horrifying baby toys come to life and threaten to keep Banana for good. With the help of GI Moe he’s able to escape. Cricket decides to create a female version of him, but the two embark in a competition to see who is the smartest. Eventually, the brains belonging to both sides take off which leads to Cricket needing Banana’s help to get his brains back. We get to the bridge and find Goat looking for that superhero guy who swoops in to save the brains. The superhero reveals his identity and GI Moe captures the brains for retrieval. Pig performs surgery on Cricket with his butt, and all is well again.
Our Take
I didn’t really care for Goat or Cricket’s story lines, but Pig and Banana are enough to keep me coming back. By the way, we need that Cow Avocado Mantis I Forget the Rest of the Name spin-off to be a real series.
In any case, the babies during Banana’s escapade were gross as hell, but hysterically thought of. I was initially worried we were going to get a soup-to-nuts Toy Story rip, but that didn’t happen. Pig’s story has plenty of Rocky which has been done a thousand times before, but I revel in the idea that butts could become as important as basketball players in the NBA. As much as I love the idea of wings coming from Earth’s core, Cricket’s plot wasn’t all that enticing for me, and the only reason I entertained Goat’s story line is because it kept popping up in every segment.
Great show. Now, get working on that spin-off, NICK!
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
