Review: Penn Zero: Part-Time Hero “Zap One”
Spoilers Below
Penn is sent back to the beginning so that we, the fans, can understand how this Part-Time Hero time came to be. Turns out, Sashi is kind of a handful, and Boone is just Boone. All three come off as the unlikeliest of allies, which leads to Penn quitting right after his first training sim.
Sashi and the Zero parents convince Penn to give it another go so he heads back to the theater and zaps with Sashi and Boone to battle as knights against Rippen and Larry. We find out that Rippen is responsible for sending Penn’s parents to a world in which they will never return. Penn’s team wins, and hence gets a new career.
Our Take
The entire time I was watching this episode, I couldn’t help but think, “Why wasn’t this the first episode?”Personally, I think it should have been because I think the launch into the back story was weak, but everything else was pretty fantastic. The production of the show gets better and better each episode, and this episode did a great job of answering a bunch of questions, but still leaves some unanswered so that it gives you more reason to continue watching the series.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
