This recap is a tale of two panels. One, the Titmouse panel from Thursday Night where a clip for Moonbeam City was shown that featured first-looks at a bunch of upcoming episodes including one featuring Pizzaz’ family that comprises of family members with special powers and abilities.

Then on Friday Night, we had a whole NYCC panel devoted to Moonbeam City, where we got to see an upcoming episode “Cop Con” where Dazzle, and the gang head to a con devoted to police officers. Eventually, the con shuts down when it is discovered that Rick from Accounting is picking off whistle blowers left and right. Meanwhile, Rad devotes his time to developing his own convention entitled “Rad Con”.

The episode was great, and the crowd really seemed to dig the episode. Afterwards, we got our first-look at the season finale of Moonbeam City premiering at the end of the season where we actually get to meet Rad’s parents all the while he tries to make real a woman that he keeps spouting about at work. Kate McKinnon (SNL) guest stars as a new love interest for Dazzle.

In terms of news for upcoming guest stars and what not, we got the majority of it already in our feature story that we did for Moonbeam City a while back. I think the thing I was MOST impressed about when it comes to the new animated franchise, is the apparent re-devotion of Comedy Central in promoting the show during Comic Con. Huge banners, and promos rolling on huge skyscrapers are indicative of a network that probably didn’t know what it had with the series, but I think the popularity of the show is growing, and hopefully the network takes this into account when thinking about a renewal for a second season.

Moonbeam City has an all-new episode airing next Wednesday Night on Comedy Central @ 10:30 pm ET/PT, entitled “Quest for Aquatica”, in it Dazzle goes undercover at sea when he’s inspired by Chrysalis’ naval commander father, but the assignment is complicated by his affection for a dolphin named Splasha.
