The One Market in which Netflix and Hulu doesn’t work that DirecTV/Dish Network does
I was on a United flight a couple of weeks ago, and I couldn’t help but read the fine print when it came to ordering Wi-Fi on the plane. The airline had two tiers, one with email and app use, and another that was a bit more expensive where you could browse whatever the hell you wanted. Me? I opted to just get some DirecTV.
At $7.99, it was by far the most affordable option, but really if I wanted to watch ANY TV, this was the only way I was going to do it. Reason being, United’s notes about Wi-Fi use specifically FORBADE any access to Hulu and Netflix. So, guess what just happened?
Satellite TV just won a round. Yep. Wanna watch BoJack Horseman’s brilliant second season on Netflix? Not gonna happen. Wanna check out the first two episodes of The Awesomes on Hulu? You haven’t a snowball’s chance in hell. Wanna catch up on reruns of Regular Show on Cartoon Network? BOOM! DirecTV and Dish Network have you covered on their airline TV services.
So, while a bunch of other outlets like to spell the doom of regular television versus internet television, maybe they should bring a couple of extra books next time they want to bring their iPad onboard with pre-loaded Netflix thinking “This is gonna be a short flight”.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
