Marvel Zombies Premiere Moved Up, Showrunner Teases Surprises

Good news for fans eagerly awaiting the Disney+ series Marvel Zombies: the premiere date has been moved up. Originally slated for an October release, showrunner and director Bryan Andrews announced that the TV-MA-rated animated series will now be available on September 24th.

The series is a four-episode sequel to the popular zombie-themed episode from the first season of What If…? Marvel Studios Animation head Brad Winderbaum previously stated that the What If…? episode acts as a “part 1 prologue” to the new series, but also noted that the new series can be watched on its own.

Marvel Zombies is set to feature zombie versions of characters like Ghost, Abomination, Captain Marvel, Scarlet Witch, Hawkeye, Okoye, and Captain America. The list of non-zombie survivors includes Jimmy Woo, Kate Bishop, Yelena, Shang-Chi, and Ms. Marvel. The series, which was originally conceived as a movie, will be a four-episode miniseries released for binge-watching.
