Shorts Review: Vixen Episode 3
Spoilers Below
In the third episode of CW Seed’s thrilling hit web series, Mari McCabe is still discovering her partners i.e. she’s good enough to do a bunch of land-based animal powers, but flying she’s not comfortable with juuuust yet. Meanwhile, Cisco is back at S.T.A.R. Labs building a machine that can find meta-humans not in the area, and I bet you can guess who he finds AND names…VIXEN. The Flash and Arrow head on over to Detroit to try and chat with the newly named subject, but she takes off with the two heroes after her.
Our Take
While it was pretty bad ass that Mari got to try out some of her new powers, none of it was in battle so in essence Episode 3 of Vixen becomes a filler episode that also fills in the missing story-gaps. In it we learn more about her powers, and how exactly her relationship with Flash and Arrow come to be. A couple of interesting plot points rose up as well. For example, I love the fact that the producers of this show aren’t making this a Flash-Arrow cartoon with occasional appearances from Vixen because that would suck. The other point is that we are growing WITH Mari from the get-go, so don’t be surprised if at the end of five episodes, you’re first thought is going to be, “Where can I get more?”
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
