Review: Star vs The Forces of Evil – “Storm The Castle”
Star reaches into a strange hole in order to find a sandwich. Marco stands behind her, pointing out that it’s not a great idea. Apparently, she has brought him to this new dimension just to try this sandwich. Well, it turns out that the strange hole is attached to a monster. A monster that doesn’t want to give up his sandwich. He chases the friends across a forest. Close to being killed, Marco grabs Star’s dimensional scissors and gets them back home in one piece. The sandwich isn’t in one piece but the people are. But Star is very upset that the sandwich has been comprised and that Marco has zero interest in trying it. She yells at him and the two storm off to their separate rooms.
Soon, Star realizes that she was wrong. She goes to Marco’s room to apologize but he’s not there. At his parents’ suggestion, Star calls his cell phone. It rings back in his room. When Star opens the door, she finds his hoodie floating in the air. A monster fly tells Star that she can find Marco at Ludo’s castle and she needs to come alone.
Marco’s parents call the police. Star tells him the entire story and he tells them that he can’t do anything. Insisting that she can fix this on her own, Star heads to Ludo’s castle to save her best friend.
Ludo, who has been kicked out of his castle, tries to bribe Buff Frog with a bag of tadpoles. He wants Buff Frog to help him take down Toffee. Before Ludo cam finish his bribe, Star runs past. Realizing his luck has changed, Ludo leaves Buff Frog to try to team up with Star. Star, not knowing that Ludo is no longer in charge, blasts both monsters, demanding Marco’s return. Buff Frog tells Star the story of Ludo’s fall. Ludo tries to get in Star’s good graces by offering to take her through the castle. Choosing between the two evils, Star elects to work with Buff Frog instead.
The group storms Toffee’s castle, attacking all of the monsters inside. Star blasts Toffee, ripping off his arm in the process. After blasting a few more monsters, she tries to destroy the crystal cage containing Marco. The cage doesn’t explode until she uses her maximum strength to blast it. Just as Marco is about to climb out of the broken cage, the crystal walls reform, trapping him once again.
Toffee arises from the floor. He tells Star that it is useless to blast the cage again, as the crystal walls are now twice as strong. As a result, Star gives up. She slides her wand over to Toffee. However, Toffee doesn’t want her wand. He wants her to destroy her wand. And he tells her how to do it.
Sadly, Star whispers the spell to her wand and it crumbles in her hand. The front star pops open. A spirit unicorn appears. He whispers something to Star and runs off. Toffee opens Marco’s cage, saving his life. Instead of letting him come out, Star tackles him back into the cage and slams the door shut. It’s not over yet.
The wand shatters in a huge explosion of power. The explosion is so big that it destroys the castle and everything in it, except for the crystal cage and an egg a monster chicken laid. Ludo, who had been eaten by the chicken, hatches out of the egg. Seeing that everything is destroyed, he vows to be Star’s mortal enemy again.
Star’s wand flies down from the sky and slams into the ground. A small horse arrives, muttering something in Spanish about having a job to do. He screws a unicorn horn onto his head and marches into the wand. The wand revives, although it is slightly different. Just then, an army of war unicorns and soldiers in armor arrive. Marco’s parents called Star’s parents from her mirror and they have arrived to save the day. Everyone heads back to Star’s parents’ castle. Her mother takes back the wand. Marco, his parents, and Star all run out of the castle.
Looking into a mirror, Star’s parents call Glossaryck. He hopes that they were able to find all of the pieces of the new wand. But the star on the front of the wand is not complete. A piece of it still lies in the rubble of Ludo’s castle.
This was an amazing season finale! The fights! The upgraded wand! Unicorns! Granted, this episode didn’t have a huge amount of Star goofing off but I think I like it better that way. This episode gave me Sailor Moon flashbacks. A teenage girl who is pretty irresponsible in her every day life takes charge and saves the day. This finale made the lamer parts of the season worth it.

"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
