Review: Pickle and Peanut “Gramma Jail”

Pickle and Peanut land Mam Mams in jail for a bull shit charge involving her checking out 11 items in a “10 items or less” checkout lane. Feeling terrible, Pickle and Peanut decide to bail Mam Mams out by dressing up as old ladies and breaking into the asylum. Once there, we find out that Mams is a mutated cyclops that runs shit in here with another big brute of a cyclops, so Pickle and Peanut need to find their inner grandmas to get out. It doesn’t actually work, but old-lady jail isn’t half bad. Fancy food, a full blown gym, even hot showers. Pickle and Peanut should do just fine with jail.
Our Take
I liked this quarter-hour, a LOT better than I liked the Greg one. It was by far funnier, and it featured a nice little twist half-way through. Pickle and Peanut is Disney XD’s closest effort that hearkens back to the 90s Nickelodeon glory days with the likes of Ren & Stimpy and CatDog. The erratic mix of live-action together with the constant gags and Superjail-lookin’ character designs makes this a series like no other on Disney XD. With Aqua Teen Hunger Force no longer around, fans of that show, and quite a few other Adult Swim favorites, may look here.
