Hulu to go ad-free
Remember not-too long ago we told you guys about Hulu’s possible toying with sub prices? Welp, a little under a week before the fall season three premiere of The Awesomes, Hulu has announced just that.
Welcome to $11.99 a month ad-free Hulu. Want South Park with no ads? BOOM! You’re booked. This officially gives a few options for potential subscribers. You can get the free option of Hulu which is basically just clips. You can get the $7.99 plan and that gets you all of Hulu’s programming but WITH ads. And now, we’ve got the third option of $11.99 without ads.
This now puts Hulu just below HBO as the most expensive streaming service. With 9 million subscribers versus Netflix’s 42 million, it will be interesting to see if this idea will increase market share for the online streaming services. And yea, I mean for both. Think about it. If you want ad-free, just go to Netflix for $4 cheaper and you’ve got rather competitive programming options as compared to Hulu. If you want South Park, and don’t want to wait for full seasons of shows to come out before you check them out, Hulu might be for you.
Either way, I’ll be streaming Hulu starting next Tuesday for a brand-new season of The Awesomes.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
