AGT winner may have “borrowed” some acts

Deadline.com is reporting that America’s Got Talent winner and ventriloquist Paul Zerdin may have “borrowed” some bits in his aired performances, and it’s not sitting well with the original ventriloquists that performed them.

David Strassman is said to be the originator of talking to his dummy and then walking away while conversing, Ronn Lucas seemed to be the guy who started the “Big Dummy” bit that Paul did with Howie Mandel. That said, it doesn’t sound like either are looking to press charges because 1) Paul didn’t break a law and 2) There really isn’t a way for ventriloquists to protect their acts.

Zerdin is denying any wrong doing, and for the most part the originators don’t seem all that upset neither, and actually commend Paul for winning. It seems as though both just want credit, but reps for Zerdin are saying some of the ideas and props used are commonplace.

In the meantime, Paul Zerdin has a million dollars that he’s sitting on top of whilst flipping everyone off. Think he’s pissed? Doubtful.
