FXX Picks Up ‘Archer’ & New Show ‘Cassius & Clay’
It seems FX is moving more and more of its content to sister station FXX. In addition to being the official home of syndicated Simpsons episodes, FXX will now gain upcoming seasons of Archer, as well as the new animated comedy Cassius & Clay.
As we previously announced, Cassius & Clay is another brainchild of Archer mastermind Adam Reed (and Modern Family’s Megan Ganz), and will star Lake Bell and Kaitlin Olson as the titular characters, a pair of female bandits. Co-stars will reportedly include Susan Sarandon, J.B. Smoove, Kevin Michael Richardson, Jeffrey Tambor, Stephen Root, Katy Mixon, and Robert Patrick.
There's got to be some kind of twist that's going to happen with this. I don't know if they're setting up an April Fool's joke now or what's going on, but it seems too strange that they'd suddenly reverse on doing a fourth and fifth season after the show was already renewed and they were even just talking about working on those seasons like a couple months ago or something. Or maybe the two episodes yet to release will secretly somehow each be like a "season" in themselves?
