BOX OFFICE UPDATE 7/20/15: Ted 2 adds $20 mil

Ted 2 cost $68 million, and I’m sure Universal Pictures would like to see at least double that to call it a good investment and maybe even worthy enough for a third chapter.

This past week, the sequel to Seth MacFarlane’s directorial debut about a pot-smoking teddy bear that hangs out with his pal John all day, made almost another $20 million in international and domestic box office grosses bringing the total gross of Ted 2’s earnings to almost $144 million.

That said, Seth probably won’t be doing any movies for a while, so don’t hold your breath for a Ted threequel. Me, personally, I’d rather see an animated series minus Mark Wahlberg. Read our review of Ted 2.
