Review: Kirby Buckets ‘The Hurt Box”

Spoilers Below
The Principal launches a suggestion box for all of the students to voice their opinions and wishes so as to make the school a better place to be. Unfortunately, Fish accidentally puts Kirby’s new comic book in the suggestion box which is bad because it’s called Teacher Creatures which makes fun of the school’s teachers and faculty. They guys have to leave the premises before they are able to get it back, so Kirby wants to break-in after school hours to get his comic back.
The guys return to the school later that evening. Fish goes in first to distract the Security Guard carrying a baby, then meets up with Eli and Kirby in the science lab. Just as they are about to make a break for the suggestion box, Mitchell shows up and takes it into a big huge party that the other teachers are throwing where they stand around and read the suggestions and shit on their students in jest.
The teachers discover Kirby, Eli, and Fish’s break-in as they shoot for the suggestion box and a chase ensues through the hallways. The teachers get their box back, and make a truce with the kids to not say bad things about each other. The next day, Fish gets a basketball hoop directly above his locker.
Meanwhile, Dawn and Belinda are in science class getting ready to cut open a frog for a good grade, but they can’t bring themselves to do it. They decide to bring the frog home as home work, but instead having THEM do it, Dawn and Belinda head to the convenience store to see if they can get the hook up on someone else that can do it for them. Too bad for the girls, the store manager could fuck up a cup of coffee, as he spills his drink and short circuits a lamp that causes the frog to be electrocuted and therefore back to life. The little guy’s life span is short-lived however as the frog runs outside and gets run-over by a car…SPLAT!
Our Take
Now THIS is more like it. It’s good to see the writers and producers of Kirby Buckets circling back to a lot of the elements that made the show a joy to watch early on. But the thing that really made this week’s episode stand-out, was the script.
I couldn’t help but think back to my younger years as Dawn and Belinda dealt with their frog. Sure, I didn’t whine as much, because I had to cut open that frog just like everyone else and that thing STANK! Seriously, it smells like the inside of a used garbage can before it has been rinsed out. Tiffany and Olivia did fantastic jobs portraying thoroughly disgusted students, but also making their dialogue a laugh riot.
The main course of the episode was excellent, and definitely the bread and butter this week. We got back to Kirby’s aspirations of wanted to be a cartoonist, and a comic book was a great way to showcase that. Again, memories flushed when Eli broke out the light up shoes or when Kirby showed off his wheelies. Unfortunately for everyone, this episode had a break out star…
The security guard’s baby. Yep…that’s right. The baby (not the fake one, the real one) was the friggin’ best. I couldn’t help but notice that the little guy was just hanging out like a champ with all of this commotion going around and looking like he could give a fuck. My favorite parts were everytime the kid dangled his baby head back looking up at the ceiling because it still makes me crack up.
Great episode, and I hurt with laughs.

"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
