Ratings Are In 6/29/15: Golan down, but it could have been worse

After a two-week hiatus, Golan the Insatiable returned last night on FOX with a brand-new episode. The thing to remember here, is that this was the first weekend in which Golan went head-to-head with another show geared towards the 18-35 male audience…Battlebots.
I’ll be honest…I DVR Golan and watch Battlebots first and I gotta say…I’m hooked on both shows. That said, Battlebots is getting HUGE ratings despite the fact that it’s an hour-long show versus Golan which was down a tenth since the last premier. According to Deadline.com:
Battle bots scored a (1.4/5) and Fox’s only original of the night was Golan The Insatiable (0.5/2), which was down a tenth from its last new show two weeks ago.
I actually thought Golan was going to score a heck of a lot lower than it did, but I think FOX should look at what ABC is doing and try and do something similar. Battlebots gets a strong lead-in from Celebrity Family Feud and FOX just surrounds Golan with reruns. Also, Battlebots did a TON of press leading up to the series’ return while FOX has yet to do any for Golan. Here’s hoping someone in FOX’s marketing department is taking notes, because they are getting their asses whooped.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
