FOX has announced that they have renewed The Simpsons for both a 27th and 28th season which will bring the total number of episodes aired to 625 after it’s all said and done.

The Simpsons are a monolith of a franchise, as the longest running animated franchise serves as a fantastic resource of which to license for 20th Century FOX that includes deals with gaming companies, book publishers, and even with Universal Studios whom has TWO Simpsons inspired amusement attractions.

The Simpsons have an all-new episode airing next Sunday Night on FOX @ 8 pm ET/PT entitled ”Bull-E”. In it, Bart gets bullied at the school dance, so Marge convinces the town to pass anti-bullying legislation. Homer then gets arrested for bullying and sent to rehab, where he is treated by therapist/reformed bully Dr. Raufbold (guest voice Albert Brooks). See preview stills for next week’s episode here.
