Singapore Teen in hot water over cartoon

For all of you cartoon creators in Hollywood that have to deal with Standards & Practices for television, take note…you don’t have it as bad in Singapore. Kids in Singapore get ARRESTED for posting cartoons.

Take this kid, according to Vice.com, Amos Yee was found guilty Tuesday of distributing an obscene image of Lee Kuan Yew, who died in March at age 91. Yee was also convicted of hurting the feelings of Christians, whom he was accused of broadly disparaging in the video.

Can you believe this shit? You get charged with hurting the feelings of Christians. Can you imagine if this law was in like downtown NYC? The jail population would be worse than it is already now! The pic featured Lee Kuan Yew butt-fucking Margaret Thatcher and I think it’s quite hysterical. Unfortunately, I think the WordPress site that Lee had up was taken down, but Vice.com still has it up and I loved it. Why this is such a big deal, I have no idea, but here’s hoping Amos is ok and making more cartoons.
