Review: Red vs. Blue Season “Along Came a Spider”
Overview (Spoilers Below)
“Along Came a Spider” was another short episode of red vs. Blue, but we’re finally going forward with some sort of urgency presented to Felix and Locus in the form of getting version of Freelancer Maine’s armor. Why is this so important, you’re asking? Well, this armor has every type of enhancement in it, but it needs an AI that is more advanced than Epsilon to run it. For once, Hargrove is doing something legit, and he is buying the AI legit. And to think, all of this is because Tucker powered on the tower, and shorted out every alien weapon in existence.
This was the reason to watch “Along Came a Spider, but there were other points made as well. Kimball is having trouble assimilating into one cohesive army, and she’s still calling Doyle and his troops the enemy. There was a brief scene with Carolina and her team, with Carolina trying to push herself too far, but Church talked her down, saying that this team doesn’t really her injuring herself with a stupid injury. It seemed like the writers had a great scene that didn’t pan out as long as they wanted, and they had to add things around it so it would make a complete episode.
That said, “Along Came a Spider” didn’t seem like a complete episode to me. There was no cohesion, but just scenes that were plastered together just to get to the 8 minute mark. Everything is coming along, but it’s at a snail’s pace. I have been waiting for something to take the momentum from the first episode of the season, but nothing has come along. That just leaves me to think that we’re going to get something next week, again. “Along Came a Spider” is another slow mover that doesn’t give us a whole hell of a lot.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
