Review: Axe Cop ‘The Center of the Ocean’

Spoilers Below
Axe Cop gets invited to a part underwater my a dude that looks like a dead ringer for King Triton of The Little Mermaid Fame. While there, we meet the Water Queen whom is responsible for all of the Earth’s water…the oceans, rivers, you name it and that’s her job. Aliens invade the party and kidnap the Water Queen and lock her up in their space craft. The Merman sends Axe Cop and his adopted son Lobster Man on a quest to get the Water Queen back and on the way there we learn of Lobster Man’s evil sister. As luck would have it, the head alien is actually her and she wants to use the Water Queen’s powers to absorb the Earth’s water and use it to drown sand people. The absorption of the Earth’s water sets off a massive world war of sharks vs tigers and the sand people are pretty much depleted. Lobster Man’s sister ends up turning into a planet, but Axe turns the space ship into a monster of a space axe and CHOPS HER HEAD OFF! The Water Queen is saved, and all of Earth’s water rushes in and drowns all of the tigers and sharks. What about tiger sharks? Whose side are they on?
Our Take
Every TV network should be aware, Axe Cop season two is putting up a masterpiece of a season and for some reason it gets better every week. Even the one portion of the episode I thought I was not going to like, the side story for Lobster Man, I had to grow to respect because it was vital to the rest of the show. But, during the 12 minutes of the show I couldn’t help but be in awe and wonder to myself, ”How the fuck do the producers of this show do ALL of this in 12 minutes?” Seriously, there is so much going on. The action sequences rival anything you’d see this side of anime, and the show is so damn funny. A war between tigers and sharks? COME ON!! The show managed to effortlessly go from Earth, to underwater, to outer space, and everywhere in between and in the fraction of the time of say Apollo 13 and the show just doesn’t stop delivering quality output.
From a more technical perspective, the character designs for everything were just so awesome. The Planet Bitch reminded me of Galactus and the way she died was so out of control it would make the Guardians of the Galaxy blush. Rick and Morty better come with the goods this summer for Adult Swim, because Axe Cop is running away with best series of the year.
Score
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
